This week I have chosen And Then Things Fall Apart by Arlaina Tibensky. Released on the 26th July 2011.
Keek’s life was totally perfect.
Keek and her boyfriend just had their Worst Fight Ever, her best friend heinously betrayed her, her parents are divorcing, and her mom’s across the country caring for her newborn cousin, who may or may not make it home from the hospital. To top it all off, Keek’s got the plague. (Well, the chicken pox.) Now she’s holed up at her grandmother’s technologically-barren house until further notice. Not quite the summer vacation Keek had in mind.
With only an old typewriter and Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar for solace and guidance, Keek’s alone with her swirling thoughts. But one thing’s clear through her feverish haze—she’s got to figure out why things went wrong so she can put them right.
Sounds like there is a lot going on in this book and I am really looking forward to reading all about it. Loving the cover (no picture of a girl in a dress - woo hoo!) and the main character's name is awesome - Keek!
That's all for now.
I like the sound of this one!
ReplyDeleteA great choice!
My WoW is here :) http://obsessionwithbooks.blogspot.com
This actually sounds pretty cool, all it needs is a hint of romance and it would be added to my wishlist too. :) I'll have to read reviews when it comes out in July.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and enjoy your reading!
This sounds really great - might have to keep this in mind to put it onto my to-read list.

This sounds like an interesting read! Cute cover!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this but it sounds really good. I feel sorry for her, getting chicken pox as a teen. I thought it was bad enough as a kid but it would be worse in high school. This looks like a really promising story. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteOh I really like the sound of this one. Thanks for featuring it.
ReplyDeleteI just added this to my TBR list because of you! ^_^ Here's my WoW: http://thoughtsatoneinthemorning.blogspot.com/2011/05/waiting-on-wednesday-3.html

ReplyDeleteHi Sally!
ReplyDeleteLove the cover for this one...great pick :). My husband said that The Bell Jar was the most depressing book he's ever read, so I hope she knows what she's in for, lol!

Keek sounds awesome already. And the cover's so cute with the use of the typewriter!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds pretty awesome actually. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my blog!
ReplyDelete"No picture of a girl in a dress...." Hahahaha. I couldn't agree more!! I do like the creativeness with the typewriter and words. It sounds like a fun read!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great cover. I love covers that don't feature people. Leaves the characters up to the personal imagination :) This also sounds like a good read so I'm adding it to the TBR!
