Teaser Tuesday 26

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Should Be Reading.

The idea is to:
Grab the book you are currently reading.
Open it up to a random page.
Share two teaser sentences.
Give the name and author of said book.
And remember No Spoilers!

So it's officially netgalley month around here which means that I am trying to read only netGalley books in July. I probably won't stick to it - alright to be honest I'm already reading an in real life book too - but I am determined to seriously reduce my netgalley backlog. I've already finished one and am on to my second - Tris and Izzie by Mette Ivie Harrison. Because I'm reading it on my kindle I'm just going to give you a teaser from where I am right now.

Branna said she didn't want him to fall in love with her because of a potion, but how would she know the difference, once it had happened? It was what a friend would do for a friend who was lonely, right?

A modern retelling of the German fairytale "Tristan and Isolde", Tris and Izzie is about a young witch named Izzie who is dating Mark King, the captain of the basketball team and thinks her life is going swimmingly well. Until -- she makes a love potion for her best friend Brangane and then ends up taking it herself accidentally, and falling in love with Tristan, the new guy at school.

Also be sure to enter my six month blogoversary giveaway to win the book of your choice from The Book Depository. All the info here.

That's all for now.

  11. Your teaser has me interested in this book. However, I have the same "problem" you do with backlogged NetGalley books. Maybe I'll get to it after/if I'm caught up. If you have time, come visit our teasers at Quirky Girls Read

  22. Thanks for stopping by my blog! This sounds like a great book as its a German fairytale retelling.

And by the way, I’ve neglected NetGalley sadly for the past few months. Got so many physical books I have to read that its impossible for me to read any galleys. Would help if I had an ereader to just pickup or take around instead of my macbook.

  34. I just requested this from Net Galley yesterday - no waiting, woo-hoo! I don't think I will be signing up for Net Galley month though, I have been great with the follow through with these things. I just have way too many books on my shelves already (I'm sure you can relate). Good luck on the challenge!
