Teaser Tuesday 24

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Should Be Reading.

The idea is to:
Grab the book you are currently reading.
Open it up to a random page.
Share two teaser sentences.
Give the name and author of said book.
And remember No Spoilers!

A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young arrived in the post yesterday. I wasn't going to start it straight away because I have like three other books to finish but I couldn't help it it looked so good.

"His mouth opens in surprise, or maybe he's thinking of arguing, but before he can respond, it happens. I'm struck with a shooting heat over my body and I'm doubled over before I can stop it."

Page 223.

We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be forgotten.

Charlotte's best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she's cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what's really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become—her mark on this earth, her very existence—is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.

Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny—no matter how dark the consequences?

That's all for now.

  6. This does sound interesting. And the writing based on the tease, looks pretty good. I feel you on the NEED to start a book as soon as it gets there - no matter how many books I've already started to read, sometimes I just have to start another! :) I just go with it until I end up finishing one or the other, or the other, or that other one...:)
