Waiting On Wednesday 31
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that highlights an upcoming book release that we are eagerly anticipating.
Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud. Released 30th September 2011.
Fast music, powerful beats and wild reputations on stage and off have made Slurry the band of the year--and the media's newest bad boys. Described as temperamental by their kindest critics, they've just lost their latest opening act and their red-hot summer tour is on the fast track to disaster.
Fitzwilliam Darcy, Slurry's tall, dark, and enigmatic virtuoso guitarist, knows that this is no time to be picky, but he never expected what was waiting when he, Charles Bingley and Richard Fitzwilliam crashed the Meryton Public House.
Elizabeth Bennet, the fiercely independent and talented lead singer of Long Borne Suffering has serious reservations about joining such a trouble laden tour with the bad boys of Rock and Roll, but the opportunity is just too good to pass up! On the Slurry tour, the music's hot, but backstage is an inferno.
OK so I am a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice continuations and modern re-tellings and this one sounds freaking awesome!
That's all for now.

Ha! I'm not such a sucker for retellings - I think they can go wrong too easily - but I have to admit, this one looks fabulous. Great pick and thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI love P&P and really hope this one does it justice...from the original to rockstars seems like a slippery slope. Then again - so did zombies, and I loved those!

ReplyDelete♥ Sarah @ I'm Loving Books
I absolutely adore Pride & Prejudice, but have never read any of the spinoffs or retellings. But I have to admit I giggled a bit as the idea of Darcy as a rock star.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see what modern twist did the author insert in this classic romance. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks really interesting....I may have to check this one out. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds like it would be filled with some heavy banter! Awesome!
